Kate Hudson Reveals She Still Gets Paid 10-Cent Residuals From a Popular ’90s Film
In a recent episode of siblings Kate and Oliver Hudson‘s podcast, Sibling Revelry, they were joined by some very nostalgic guests. Joey, Matthew, and Andrew Lawrence, best known as the Lawrence brothers in films and movies such as Brotherly Love, joined the siblings and talked about some of their old gigs that they are still getting paid for.
Joey said that he booked a commercial for Cracker Jack when he was just five years old and it led to 50 more national commercials in his first year of acting. Kate asked him if he still gets residuals (payments) from any of his old ads and revealed that she still gets checks from a very surprising source!
She shared, “I still get residuals from ‘Home Alone 2’ because I sang in the chorus. I’m in that chorus, and then I get 10 cents every once in a while.” Joey added that he too gets some very small residuals and responded, “Sometimes I’ll get, like, 2 cents and I’m like, ‘Wait. Doesn’t the envelope and paper cost more?'”
The Lawrence brothers were shocked that Kate was featured in the 1992 movie and said that they would have to rewatch it to look for her. Oliver said that it is one of the few movies that she is in that he has seen. In a different interview, the siblings admitted that they don’t usually watch each other’s movies or shows.
With so many actors in the family, including mom Goldie Hawn, stepdad Kurt Russell, and half-brother Wyatt Russell, it would probably be way too much to keep up with everything! Tell us, did you realize that a very young Kate Hudson was in Home Alone 2? I certainly had no idea!
