Could Sylvester Stallone Be the Next ‘WWE WrestleMania’ Star?
WWE WrestleMania is the most exciting event of all time for wrestling fans. It premiered all the way back in 1985 and has been known to have a star-studded lineup. Celebrities including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Pamela Anderson, and Snoop Dogg have participated in the event and now rumors are that Rocky himself may be next. WrestleMania 40 is planned for April 6 and 7, 2024 in Philadelphia. Fans believe that Sylvester Stallone will appear, especially due to his ties to Philly and the Rocky franchise.
An X account called WrestleVotes recently shared, “Sources within WWE indicate there is interest in collaborating with Sylvester Stallone for WrestleMania in some form. While any communication status is unclear, I’m told there’s hope for it. Whether it ultimately ends up happening or not is to be determined. Stallone, born in NYC, gained fame through the iconic Rocky films, deeply associated with Philadelphia. Additionally, Stallone is no stranger to the WWE world, having inducted Hulk Hogan into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.”
Hogan and Stallone worked together in the third installment of the Rocky movies. Hogan played Thunderlips and the actors portrayed an epic match between Thunderlips and Rocky. While Stallone is well-known for action and fighting movies, he recently urged other actors not to do their own stunts after getting some gnarly injuries. In an episode of his family’s reality show, The Family Stallone, he opened up about his seventh back surgery.
Stallone shared, “There’s something romantic about doing your own stunts. There’s something very unromantic about after doing your own stunts. Here we go ahead, it’s back operation season.” He added, “After that film [The Expendables], I was literally physically never the same. So I warn people, don’t do your own stunts.” His wife, Jennifer Flavin, confirmed that he is always in a lot of pain and tries to mask it in front of others. He doesn’t even like sharing how many surgeries he’s had and his daughters added that for their whole childhood, he was in pain.
