Jackie Loughery, Actress & Wife of Jack Webb Dies at 93
Jackie Loughery, an actress, and Miss USA pageant winner has died at the age of 93. Biographer Dan Moyer confirmed the news that she passed away on Friday in Los Angeles. Loughery is known for winning the very first Miss USA pageant in Long Beach, California. She then made it to the semifinals of the Miss Universe pageant and received a movie contract with Universal-International.
The actress was once Johnny Carson‘s assistant on the game show Earn Your Vacation and appeared in films such as Pardners, Eighteen and Anxious, and A Public Affair. She met actor Jack Webb while they were filming the 1957 drama The D.I. Webb directed and produced the film, as well as starred in it. The couple wed in 1958 and were married until 1964. Loughery then married Jack W. Schwietzer in 1969 and they remained together until his death in 2009. She was married three times in total and had no children.
Loughery went on to appear in television shows such as The Cisco Kid, The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show, Perry Mason, Bonanza, and more. Her final onscreen credit was in 1969. She retired from acting and worked at the Home Savings and Loan Association in her later years.
