Valerie Bertinelli Found Love Again Despite Believing She’d Die Alone With Her Six Cats & Dog
Valerie Bertinelli was not looking for love when it found her. After the passing of her ex-husband Eddie Van Halen and a divorce from her second husband Tom Vitale, she admitted that she could see herself dying alone with her six cats and dog. Of course, she has a beloved son named Wolfgang who she shares with her late ex but Bertinelli is happy to share that she has found romantic love again.
Bertinelli revealed, “I’m in love. It’s a seesaw of emotions because I was adamant I was never falling in love again. I was supposed to die with my six cats and my dog and very happily live the rest of my years alone — I’m good alone. My belly is flip-flopping. This was not supposed to happen.” The 63-year-old admitted that it has been a long road to re-discovering herself and learning to love herself again. She said that therapy and walking her dog were very helpful during the healing process following Van Halen’s death and her divorce. During this time, she also worked on a cookbook.

She said, “The cookbook was an offshoot of the emotional and mental healing I‘ve been doing. First came the work. Why I thought I didn’t deserve to be loved. Why I was using food to numb my feelings. All the drama and trauma I hadn’t dealt with — with Ed and my last marriage. I know we’re talking about a cookbook but this cookbook got me through all of it. The more I let myself cry, the better I felt. I wasn’t trying to be happy or sad or thin. I wasn’t trying to be anything other than who I was.”
Unfortunately for nosy fans, Bertinelli isn’t quite ready to reveal who her mystery man is just yet. She did share that they started talking on the phone earlier this year and things recently became romantic.
