Clint Eastwood Makes Rare Appearance for Jane Goodall’s Birthday Event
Just ahead of Clint Eastwood‘s 94th birthday on May 31, 2024, he was seen in a rare public appearance. While he looked pretty frail, he seemed to be in good spirits visiting with his longtime friend Jane Goodall. Goodall recently turned 90 years old and is currently on a 90th birthday tour, talking about conservation with the Wildlife Conservation Network.
The event, called Reasons for Hope, was held at the Sunset Cultural Center in Carmel-by-the Sea, California. This is a very special place for Eastwood, as he was the former mayor of the city. Eastwood was in the front row for Goodall’s talk and joined her backstage at a reception for VIP guests.

Despite being in his 90s and having some difficulties getting around, Eastwood has not stopped working. He is currently directing and producing what is likely to be his final film, Juror No. 2. The film stars Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette in a court thriller. The movie is expected to be released sometime in 2024.
Eastwood has been acting for many decades and made his directorial debut with the 1971 film Play Misty for Me. He has been dedicated to making movies ever since and helping several of his eight children spark their own acting careers, including Scott Eastwood.
Despite helping out his children, they have long said that he doesn’t give handouts. Scott once shared, “There were no handouts. It wasn’t like that. It was like, ‘Get a job. You want something, go out and get a job and make a career for yourself.”’ Eastwood raised many of his children outside of the Hollywood lights, in a small town away from the public eye.
