Elvis Presley’s Marriage to Priscilla & Those Classic Photos
Priscilla Beaulieu was the 14-year-old stepdaughter of an Air Force officer stationed in Germany with Elvis Presley. “Cilla” met Elvis – age 21 – in September 1959 at a party at his house in Germany. After exchanging letters and phone calls for many years, he persuaded her parents to let her move to Graceland in 1963 by promising to marry her when she was an appropriate age. They finally wed on May 1, 1967, in an intimate but elegant wedding at The Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. While the couple eventually divorced in 1973, they remained close up until his death in 1977. Their whole courtship and marriage were recently brought to light through Priscilla‘s eyes in the Sofia Coppola movie Priscilla.
