Dallas Cast Reunion at Hollywood Show Was Largest Ever (Photos)
On March 1 and 2, 2024, there was a huge Dallas reunion at The Hollywood Show in Los Angeles, CA.
TV’s Ewing family was known for backstabbing, sleeping around and an infamous gunshot. A #1 TV show and a worldwide hit on television in the 1970s and 1980s, Dallas began as a mini-series in April 1978, went on to run for 14 seasons on CBS, and turned out numerous TV movies and even a reboot series in 2012. It focused on an oil tycoon family, The Ewings — J.R., Sue Ellen, Bobby, Pam, Jock, Miss Ellie and Lucy — who lived under one roof at Southfork Ranch in Dallas, TX.
There have been many Dallas reunions in the past, but this past Hollywood Show was the largest by far. The guest list was a who’s-who of the Ewing family, with 25 actors from the series in one room!
The cast was on hand for the two-day show where fans could meet and greet the stars and buy autographs, memorabilia and photos with their favorite Ewing! There was also a one-hour panel with the show’s leads, a professional photo op, and even a full cast photo!
To be honest, I was in the eye of the storm, alongside my bestie, Dallas star Charlene Tilton, who played Lucy Ewing for 11 seasons. I was on hand to help her at her table, which gave me access to all the behind-the-scenes fun. I have met Linda, Patrick, Christopher, Steve, and a few others at past Dallas events, and they are all lovely.
The sweetest thing that really stood out during the event was that I got a true sense of how much all these actors really loved each other. This was, for some, the first time many of the actors had been together since the show ended in 1991. The actors were excited to see each other. One by one, they found themselves at each other’s tables, hugging, taking selfies, and reminiscing about their years together on the show. Producers and stand-ins dropped by to say hi as well.
What made the event even more amazing were the backdrops that two-time Emmy winner James Yarnell created for the event. James created a bar that showcased the Jock Ewing painting, the Southfork front gate, an Ewing Oil rig, and, of course, a huge Dallas logo with the Southfork home, which was used for the cast photo shoot and Dallas panel.
The cast reunion went on among thousands of their most loyal fans flocking to meet them. The fans showed up in fun group Dallas-themed T-shirts, armed with cast scripts, rare photos and items for the cast to sign. Many of the fans arrived with questions. Some even came with gifts, including beautiful drawn art pieces.
The love in that room was amazing. It was like being at the Oil Barron Ball, but no one got pushed into the pool!
Also announced was a new event at South Fork Ranch where the series was filmed. The experience will be held on October 25-27, 2024 in Dallas Texas. The current lineup of guest includes Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Charlene Tilton, Steve Kanaly, Sheree Wilson & Josh Henderson.
Here are some more exclusive images from the event.
