‘Dukes of Hazzard’ Star John Schneider Opens Up About New Girlfriend
John Schneider, best known for his role as Bo Duke in Dukes of Hazzard, has debuted a new relationship after mourning the loss of his wife Alicia Allain. Allain died in early 2023 after a battle with breast cancer. Schneider credits his faith for getting him through a tough year and allowing him to meet something special. He opened up about the relationship on a recent podcast called Grace Begins, The Podcast.
Schneider said, “God sent a widower to a widow and a widow to a widower who [gets] it, who understands. Because I tell you what, I was ready to give it up, all of it — everything. Then just when I thought the very notion of dating or holding another hand was repulsive, I met this one, that crazy Dame over there.” That “crazy Dame’s” name is Dee Dee Sorvino and she was married to actor Paul Sorvino until his death in 2022.
Dee Dee is an actor and comedian in her own right and received an Emmy for hosting the international talk show Fresh Outlook. Before meeting Dee Dee, Schneider competed on The Masked Singer and said the show helped him to heal after the loss of his wife as well.
He added, “And that’s the personality of grief, is living like this, being pulled in two completely opposite directions at the same time … you want something with all your heart and soul, and you don’t want it with all your heart and soul, at the same time. I want this pain to go away, but I don’t want it [to] diminish her in any way. I want to laugh, and when I do, I feel bad. I want to smile and mean it, but I don’t.” Schneider also revealed on the podcast that they are moving to Madison, Indiana because he felt called to move to a small Midwest town. The news comes after Schneider got in trouble with the Secret Service after posting on social media, calling for the hanging of President Biden. He has since deleted the post.
What do you think about the two dating and Schneider moving to a small town?
