Comet TV is the best place to watch some of your favorite sci-fi and fantasy favorites. They recently shared their June schedule and it is full of sharks! Not only are they showing a Summer Shark Marathon but they are also celebrating the 30th anniversary of Stargate. This weekend on June 9, Comet TV is airing a Stargate SG-1 Best Villains Marathon starting at 2 pm PST, paying tribute to the bad guys of the franchise. On June 15, they are sharing a special marathon of Stargate beginning at 12:30 pm PST. Stargate is a military science-fiction franchise based on the film by Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin.

Legend has it that Devlin became obsessed with ancient Egyptian history and loved the concept that aliens could have influenced those times. His fascination eventually became the idea behind Stargate and the filmmakers even consulted an Egyptologist named Stuart Tyson Smith who made sure any mentions of Egyptian culture and mythology were factual. The movie did so well that it spawned several television shows and sequels, an animated series, books, comic books and video games.

Shark Infested Movies

Next up is for you shark lovers. You won’t want to miss out on a Summer Shark Marathon with films such as Mega Piranha and Mega Shark vs. Mega Octopus starting June 22 at 12 pm PST. During the week, you can watch marathons of some of your favorite nostalgic shows such as The X-Files, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and Grimm. Rounding out the month, at the end of June, catch some classic Mockbusters, basically films that copied a similar major motion picture movie but with a low budget. Think B-movies such as The Monster of Piedras Blancas or Village of the Giants.
