Lynda Carter has hung up her Lasso of Truth and has been sharing something new with the world: her music. Now, she is set to release a new single called “Pink Slip Lollipop” on June 21, 2024, and shared a teaser of the cover art. Big fans might recognize it, as it was inspired by a photoshoot she had way back in the 1970s.

Carter shared a fun throwback photo of herself in a silver swimsuit with her long, flowing hair down her back. Her hands are on her hips in a confident pose. The now 72-year-old admitted that this photo was the inspiration for the cover art for her new single.

While many know Carter as Wonder Woman, she revealed that her true passion is singing and that she has been singing for over 50 years. She said that she started singing in clubs when she was just 14 years old and was writing music before she started acting and got her big break as Wonder Woman.

This year, she also released a song called “Letters From Earth,” dedicated to her late husband Robert Altman. The pair had been together for over 35 years and had two children. He passed away from blood cancer in 2021.

She said, “The soul of the song is about how you miss a person so much, because they’re such a presence in your life that it’s almost impossible to imagine that you won’t physically see them again in this life. You wonder, ‘How can I communicate with you? Where are you? You didn’t just die — there’s too much of you left on this earth, too many people that love you.’ These letters are almost a prayer to your loved one. Hopefully people will relate to it. It’s a celebration of love, as much as it is heartbreaking.” Listen to another one of her songs called “Rise Up” below:
