Country music star George Strait just can’t stop performing. Over 10 years ago in 2012, he announced his retirement from touring and went out on his The Cowboy Rides Away tour. Luckily for fans, he changed his mind and has continued to tour since. In a recent show, he broke a U.S. concert attendance record for the largest U.S.-ticketed show when he rocked out at Kyle Field at Texas A&M in College Station. He played for over 110,905 fans, breaking the record that the Grateful Dead set about 50 years ago.

A fan shared with Fox News Digital that the show was full of country music-loving Texans and that the “energy was absolutely incredible.” They added, “On top of that, the way that he honored American heroes throughout the show was so inspiring – from ‘The Weight of the Badge’ video featuring local police officers, firefighters, and first responders – to honoring a veteran on stage by giving her a new home – you could feel the patriotism radiating throughout the stadium!”

Texas is very close to Strait’s heart as he grew up on a Texas cattle farm. He started playing music in high school and hit it big when he released his first charting single “Unbound” in 1981. While his country music career has stayed strong, the love of his family has remained stronger. Strait and his wife Norma celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2021. They had two children but sadly, their daughter Jenifer died in a car collision in 1986. After her death, the family created the Jenifer Strait Memorial Foundation, focusing on charitable causes for children.

Not only has Strait come back to touring and performing on stage but he is also releasing a new album this fall. Cowboys and Dreamers is his first album in five years and will likely set records as well. Strait has achieved the most No. 1 albums in the entire history of country music, securing him a spot with legends. Listen to one of the first songs from his album:
