Jim Henson’s Labyrinth was certainly a new kind of fantasy film in the 1980s and has since become a cult classic. Henson took a step back from the Muppets for a different kind of movie musical, starring Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie. In the film, 16-year-old Sarah is given just thirteen hours to solve a labyrinth in order to save her younger brother Toby from the Goblin King Jareth after she wishes that he was taken away.

Henson once said that the movie’s message is a representation of Sarah’s inner journey as she learns to take responsibility for her life and her actions. The music in the film is very quintessential ’80s and remains so beloved, that a new concert will be coming to 30 cities around the country.

Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: In Concert will showcase the movie on a big screen with a band performing the score live in sync with the film’s vocals. It will truly be an immersive way to view the film for the first or 50th time. “With ‘Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: In Concert,’ we are welcoming loyal and new fans to the world of the Goblin King, and celebrating the incredible music of David Bowie and Trevor Jones in a whole new way,” said Nicole Goldman of The Jim Henson Company.
