Exclusive: ‘Collector’s Call’ Welcomes Tommy Holbrook & His Incredible ‘Bozo the Clown’ Collection
There’s that famous song that says, “Send in the Clowns,” but for collector Tommy Holbrook of Elgin, Illinois, the clowns have been more than already here for a long time — at least when it comes to one particularly famous clown.
Over the course of his life, self-proclaimed “Bozologist” Holbrook has assembled enough Bozo the Clown memorabilia, merchandise, costumes and props to fill a big top. The June 30 episode of Collector’s Call will look at highlights from his collection and, of course, also feature Bozo’s famed Grand Prize Game!
A historian who has also written a volume on the beloved clown’s history, Tommy will be sharing with host Lisa Whelchel (and viewers) his enthusiasm, expertise and sheer love of the character in the installment, which premieres Sunday at 6:30pm ET on MeTV.
Remind Holbrook will also show off such treasures as a colorful-but-fragile Bozo spin-a-wheel; the one-of-a-kind costume of Boston’s legendary Bozo; and the vintage makeup kit pictured below, which has an instruction booklet designed especially for Bozo portrayers (perhaps offering similar do’s and don’ts that Elvis impersonators need to follow!).

Also featured in the episode is regular Collector’s Call expert appraiser (and one-time Bozo’s Circus audience member!) Kate Martin. She places a value on Tommy’s joyful collection and tries to tempt him with a trade of one of his beloved items for a rare Bozo artifact that she has brought along.
Additionally, there will be a special shout-out to Tommy from the recent new owner of the Bozo the Clown intellectual property, David Arquette (yes, that David Arquette).
And, of course, what would a Bozo-themed episode be without a round of the famed Grand Prize Game?
