On July 3, the official Lego Instagram account teased fans with an animated video of a very familiar shark rising from the depths to chomp down on an unsuspecting blonde swimmer with a very familiar John Williams score playing in the background. Well, it seems Lego fans are gonna need a bigger (brick) boat, or perhaps even bigger shelves, because the long-awaited Jaws Lego Ideas set is finally coming out this August. And within hours after giving us a sneak peek at their Lego leviathan, leaked photos of the actual set started popping up online faster than those yellow barrels harpooned to Jaws.

The set appears to include all of your favorite characters from Steven Spielberg’s 1975 classic including Chief Brody, Matt Hooper, and Quint. Of course, there’s Bruce the Shark himself, who comes with his own stand. There’s also Quint’s boat, the Orca, and the deck seems to be detailed with some familiar props and accessories from the movie such as a map, letter, machete, harpoons, and those yellow barrels. Chief Brody’s famous quote, “You’re gonna need a bigger boat,” is printed on the base of the diorama.

According to fan site The Daily Jaws, the set will measure 23 inches in length and 14 inches in height and will consist of 1,427 brick pieces. The set will be released August 1, 2024 and pricing is said to be $159.99, although Lego has not officially confirmed details as of the timing of this article, so stay tuned for future updates.

Fun fact: This new Jaws Lego Ideas set is actually the brainchild of Jaws super fan Jonny Campbell from Northern Ireland. He submitted his fin-tastic creation to the Lego Ideas platform, where fans can submit photos of their mini-brick creations and vote for their favorite prototypes to become a reality. After a frenzy of over 10,000 votes, Lego took notice and made his Jaws set become a reality. Now, just over a year later, it’s finally becoming available to Jaws fans everywhere.
