Duran Duran Announces a Fall U.S. Tour Including a Special Halloween Show in New York

It’s been nine months since Duran Duran summoned the darkness with their spooky-themed Danse Macabre album. And it seems the Wild Boys aren’t ready to shake off their gothic tendencies just yet either, because on the one-year anniversary of that album’s release, they’re going to embark on an East Coast tour which includes a special Halloween show at the Madison Square Garden on October 31.

According to the band’s press release, this one night is being touted as the “Halloween Danse Macabre Party.” Duran Duran fans may recall that the band did a special Halloween gig in Las Vegas back on October 31, 2022. During the show, the band dressed up in Halloween costumes and performed some of Duran Duran’s darkest gems along with some covers including Siouxsie and the Banshees’ “Spellbound” and the Talking Head’s “Psycho Killer” to name a few. This All Hallow’s Eve show is what actually inspired the band to channel their dark side and make their 16th studio album a full-blown Halloween-themed project.

Not long after the 2022 Halloween show — and their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction that following November — the band announced Danse Macabre as an album consisting of darkly reimagined versions of Duran Duran classics, three all-new tracks, and some covers including Billie Eilish’s “Bury a Friend,” the Rolling Stone’s “Paint it Black,” and more. The album was released on October 27, 2023 to mostly glowing reviews.

In addition to the special Halloween show in New York, Duran Duran also announced some additional fall tour dates including stops in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, Maryland and New Hampshire. Per Duran Duran’s press release, the public on-sale begins Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m.. Along with every ticket purchased, fans will receive a digital copy of Duran Duran’s 16th studio album, Danse Macabre, repackaged with unreleased extras.
