Clint Eastwood’s Longtime Partner Christina Sandera Dies at 61
It has been announced that 94-year-old Clint Eastwood‘s longtime partner Christina Sandera has died at the age of 61 of a heart attack. The official cause of death was cardiac arrhythmia and atherosclerotic coronary artery disease. Eastwood shared a brief statement and wrote, “Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much.” Eastwood’s daughter, Morgan Eastwood, also shared a statement talking about how Sandera impacted her life. She wrote, “A devastating loss for our whole family. Thank you Christina for being a good partner to my Dad. You will be missed.”
While Eastwood and Sandera were very private about their relationship over the years and never publicly confirmed that they were together, they reportedly met when she worked as a host at Eastwood’s Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Eastwood has a special place in his heart for the California city, and he was even the mayor there in 1986.
The pair had been dating since 2014, and Sandera joined Eastwood on several red carpets, including in 2015 when his film American Sniper was up for six Oscars. She also attended events in 2016, 2018 and 2019. They were seen holding hands.
Before dating Sandera, Eastwood was married twice. He was married to model Maggie Johnson from 1953 until 1984, and then news anchor Dina Ruiz from 1996 until 2014. He shares eight children with six women. Several of the children have followed in their father’s footsteps, including actor Scott Eastwood, whom he shares with Jacelyn Reeves. Eastwood was also infamously linked to Sondra Locke in the ’70s, having an affair during the shooting of The Outlaw Josey Wales. She admitted to having several abortions when they were together before she died in 2018.
At 94, Eastwood is still working. What he has said will be his final film, Juror No. 2, is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in 2025.
