Clint Eastwood has been married several times and has eight children in total and now many grandchildren. Combined with working hard as an actor and director for decades, Eastwood surely had to run a tight ship to keep everything in his life going smoothly. Now, his daughter Francesca Eastwood with his ex Frances Fisher is opening up about what it was like to have Eastwood as a dad and the differences she sees in him as a grandparent.

She explained, “I mean, just the sweetest. You know, my dad was very strict and my mom — both my parents were very strict with me when I was a kid. And it’s so lovely and sometimes bittersweet to just see how just doting and just classic grandpa and grandma to their grandson who can do no wrong. But it’s lovely. And they have their own relationship that I’m obviously involved in. They’re fantastic, and they’re so present.”

Francesca recalls being on sets with her parents when she was young. She called it a “huge blessing” to be able to watch them work and learn from them and said they inspired her to become an actor herself. She can be seen in Outlaws and Angels, Wuthering High and Running on Empty.

“I have such a respect and an appreciation for all that goes into making a film,” she added. “It really is somewhere that I feel — I feel like it’s a home away from home, being on set no matter what, no matter what the set is. Some are better than others but I feel like it was a huge blessing in that it opened my world to something that I really love to do, and I appreciate them for kind of treating me like an adult in that way. At a very young age.”

Francesca continued that she always follows her dad’s advice, which is to keep going and do your best.
