Saved by the Bell, a quintessential ’90s show that I swear was always airing in the mornings in the late ’90s and early 2000s, followed a group of teenagers at Bayside High as they experienced various teen adventures, romantic and otherwise. Many of the stars reprised their roles for the short-lived reboot in 2020. The original series was a spin-off of the Disney Channel show Good Morning, Miss Bliss which aimed to be both educational and entertaining for children and teens. The characters became so beloved that fans followed them through college and beyond with spin-offs Saved by the Bell: The College Years, Saved by the Bell: The New Class and TV movies Saved by the Bell: Hawaiian Style and Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas.

The kids are all grown up now and here’s what they have been up to.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar (50)

Can you believe that the troublemaker and teen idol is now 50 years old?

Gosselaar was one of the stars to appear in the Saved by the Bell reboot in 2020, playing Zach Morris again, who is now the governor of California, along with Mario Lopez, Lark Voorhies, Tiffani Thiessen and Elizabeth Berkley. (The show did not become a success, cancelled after one season.) He is also known for the shows Raising the Bar, NYPD Blue, Franklin & Bash and Mixed-ish. Most recently, he was a regular on the first season of the ABC crime drama Will Trent. Currently, he can be seen in the NBC show Found. He has four children, two with his current wife, Catriona McGinn, and two with his ex-wife, Lisa Ann Russell.

Mario Lopez (50)

While Lopez started out as a child star, he is now known as a television host. He hosted Extra, The X Factor, America’s Best Dance Crew and now is one of the hosts of Access Hollywood. He also competed in Dancing with the Stars and finished in second place. While not hosting, he has been known to continue to act. Lopez reprised his role as A.C. Slater in the 2020 reboot and has also done some Christmas movies. He even had a reality show called Mario Lopez: Saved by the Baby. Lopez has also been involved in reviving the boy band Menudo and helped them release their first single “Mi Amore” last year. He has written three books, two about fitness and one about his daughter. He is still just as interested in fitness as Slater and has a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is married to Courtney Mazza and has three children.

Tiffani Thiessen (50)

Thiessen, who played the bubbly cheerleader of Bayside High, appeared on another teen show, Beverly Hills, 90210 after the end of Saved by the Bell. She was also a regular on White Collar, plus the Netflix show Alexa & Katie. She loves to cook, and got her own Cooking Channel show called Dinner at Tiffani’s in 2015 and later hosted MTV’s Deliciousness. Before she settled down with her husband Brady Smith, she dated two of her Saved by the Bell co-stars, Gosselaar and Lopez, as well as Brian Austin Green. She has two children.

Lark Voorhies (50)

Voorhies has seemingly stepped away from acting in recent years, except to appear in the Saved by the Bell reboot. After the original show, she mostly worked on soap operas, including Days of Our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful, and self-published three books. While she dated actor Martin Lawrence and has been married twice, she is currently single and has no children. In 2020, Voorhies revealed that she had been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder.

Elizabeth Berkley (52)

Berkley went on to star in the films Showgirls, First Wives Club and several TV movies, plus the shows CSI: Miami, The L Word, Baywatch and more. She also competed on Dancing with the Stars and came in sixth place. Hoping to help young girls, she wrote an advice book and created an online program called Ask Elizabeth. She is married to clothing designer Greg Lauren and has one child.

Dustin Diamond (Died in 2021 at 44)

Diamond had a tough life after the show ended. He served time in jail in 2016 for stabbing a man during a bar brawl in Port Washington, WI. Before that, he was doing stand-up comedy and appeared on several reality shows including Celebrity Fit Club. Sadly, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer in 2021 and died just three weeks after his diagnosis. He was dating Tash Jules at the time of his death. Diamond was not as close with the rest of his cast members and even wrote a tell-all book trashing many of them in 2009.

Dennis Haskins (73)

We can’t forget about Bayside High’s principal. Haskins went on to appear in several popular shows, including It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mad Men, How I Met Your Mother, New Girl and Hot in Cleveland. In 2009, he released a fun album called Karaoke With Your Favorite Principal Dennis. He has one child with his ex-wife.
