Don Johnson Has Adorable Reunion With Former Mother-in-Law Tippi Hedren
Two stars with an interesting history recently had a little reunion: 74-year-old Don Johnson, best known for Miami Vice, posted a photo with 94-year-old movie star Tippi Hedren. The two were once family and even co-stars, as evident with his caption, “Beautiful… my co-star, Tippi Hedren.”
Which movie did Don Johnson and Tippi Hedren star in?
They both appeared in the 1973 film The Harrad Experiment. Based on a popular novel, the film centers around Professor Phillip Tenhausen and his wife Margaret who incorporate a course on sexual relations into a class at Ivy League Harrad College. Hedren’s daughter Melanie Griffith, just a teenager at the time, played a small role as a student.

It was there that Johnson and Griffith met, although at first, their age gap stopped them from being together, as Johnson was in his 20s. They wed a few years later in 1976, but only stayed married for six months.
Johnson and Griffith found their way back to each other in the late ’80s, and married from 1989 until 1996. They had one daughter together, Dakota, who is now a famous actress as well. Despite not being technically family members for decades, it seems that Johnson and Hedren are still close!
Earlier this year, Griffith shared a few fun photos of her mother to celebrate her 94th birthday. She looks great posing in fun glasses that say “Cake Time” while holding up a piece of birthday cake. Prior to her big day, Hedren said that she was going to have a laid-back birthday with family. She shared, “It may not be exciting to the rest of the world, but as a mother and grandmother, it’s the perfect way to celebrate.”
