While Svengoolie and his ghoulish pals are likely gearing up for the annual October “Halloween BOO-Nanza,” they haven’t forgotten about September, known as Pre-Halloween season! The September schedule is out and is an assortment of various villainy, so get ready to feel the spooky chill of September and prepare to watch these classics with a cozy drink or a snack.

KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE, 1988

Killer Klowns from Outer Space makes its debut on September 7, 2024. The film premiered in 1988 and has since become a cult classic featuring evil aliens who, of course, look like your run-of-the-mill creepy clowns. They arrive on Earth and aim to harvest humans to keep surviving. It is pretty campy and considered a comedy-horror because of all of the silly elements, including practical effects and makeup by the Chiodo Brothers, who also wrote and directed the film, and contains a killer theme song by the Dickies!

Eventually, he is lost and alone, living in his basement. The film is now preserved in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

THE NIGHT STALKER, Darren McGavin, 1972

This collection of tales covers a vintage car that acts as a time machine, a vampire haunting, and a mourning mother who brings her son back from the dead with black magic. Another Dan Curtis/Matheson production, this movie stars Ed Begley Jr., Patrick Macnee, Ann Doran and more.

Not only is this a great September lineup, Sven is continuing to celebrate his 45th anniversary with new exclusive merch and a new comic book launch in October. For up-to-date news, you can sign up for his monthly newsletter here.
