I don’t know about you, but every evening I look forward to getting cozy and watching a nostalgic show to let the worries of the day drift away and replace them with something comforting. Cozi TV is a great free channel owned by NBC and airs classic television shows from the 1960s to the 2000s (sidenote, who is sad that the 2000s are now considered nostalgic?).
Recently, Cozi TV switched up its lineup for fall after acquiring the rights to show Married… With Children and The King of Queens. Meredith McGinn, EVP of diginets and original production for NBCUniversal Local, said, “Cozi TV delivers a thoughtfully curated selection of TV’s best comedies, and most compelling drama titles, and we’re proud to continue to refresh and expand our collection with beloved titles like Married… With Children and The King of Queens (which just moved from late-night syndication). These timeless sitcoms and their characters remain extraordinarily popular with longtime fans and with new generations of viewers.”
The network also recently announced that they switched Sundays to an all-comedy lineup, moved The Munsters to midday, and moved Monk and Bones to air on Saturdays to accompany Columbo. In addition, they removed their mystery movie series after discovering that most of their audience preferred classic television shows.
Cozi TV also pays tribute to the late Michael Landon by showing Highway to Heaven, Little House on the Prairie and, recently, Loving Little House: The 50th Anniversary Celebration documentary. Not only that, but Cozi TV airs The Nanny, Frasier, Roseanne and more.
What is your favorite nostalgic show, and are you upset or happy about these changes?
