‘Little House on the Prairie’ Star Dean Butler Apologizes for Canceled Event
We recently shared that many of the surviving cast members of Little House on the Prairie cut ties with the event planning company Jack Bishop’s Gravel Road Markets, LLC, after the company produced a number of 50th anniversary events. They wrote in a joint statement, “We have instructed Mr. Bishop to remove our names and likenesses from all sales and marketing assets supporting his scheduled Little House on the Prairie 50th anniversary events in Lyle, Tennessee; Keystone, South Dakota; Branson, Missouri; and Corsicana, Texas.”
It seems that the drama continues as the September 14 event in Lyle, Tennessee continued on without the cast. Cast member Dean Butler took to social media to apologize to the fans and give an explanation, as well as thank the owners of the event location for doing the best they could under bad circumstances. He said, in part, “On behalf of the entire cast of Little House on the Prairie, I want to offer my sincerest apology for your inconvenience.”

He apologized on behalf of the cast that attendees had not been given notice from the event organizer about the cancellation. So, if fans did not see the cast statement, they traveled to the event. Butler thanked the Oxley family of the Johnny Cash Farm for making fans who did still show up to the event feel welcome. He also thanked fans for their understanding, love and support of the franchise and added that they will update fans on upcoming events in 2025. Butler concluded the video by saying, “Little House forever. We’ll see you soon.”

In our previous post, fans flocked to the comments to share their experience at the events, and have even said that the event company is not yet honoring refunds for the canceled events. While many shamed the event company, most realized that it was not the cast’s fault and thanked them for being kind.
One commenter wrote, “I attended the CT weekend. Paid over $200 for a disastrous dinner experience and waited on line for 5 hrs. Despite being scammed by Jack Bishop and Gravel Roads, the cast were amazing and tried their best to rectify the situation best they could. It was completely out of their control.”
