Ozzy Osbourne’s former guitarist Jake E. Lee was shot in Las Vegas and is now being hospitalized. He was reportedly shot multiple times about 10 miles away from the Las Vegas strip yesterday, Oct. 15, 2024. He is now being taken care of at the local hospital in the ICU and is expected to make a full recovery, according to his rep.

Osbourne reacted in a statement after hearing the heartbreaking news. He said to TMZ, “It’s been 37 years since I’ve seen Jake E. Lee, but that still doesn’t take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him today. It’s just another senseless act of gun violence. I send my thoughts to him and his beautiful daughter, Jade. I just hope he’ll be OK.”

As of now, Las Vegas authorities believe that the shooting was random, and it was reported that he was shot around 2:45am while walking his dog. The dog is reportedly unharmed. The police are currently investigating, and no arrests have been made at the time of this posting. His rep asked for the family’s privacy at this time.

Lee was playing with a Ronnie James Dio project when Ozzy recruited him to play guitar for his band in the 1980s. He had contributed to Osbourne’s 1983 album Bark at the Moon and 1986’s The Ultimate Sin. He toured extensively with the band until Ozzy abruptly fired him in 1987 later stating no ill will, just wasn’t a match anymore. In recent years, he founded the heavy-metal bands Badlands and Red Dragon Cartel. Wishing Lee a speedy recovery!
