4 Things You Never Knew About Bruce Springsteen’s Sister Pamela

You likely know about singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen and his impressive career, but do you know anything about his sister? Pamela Springsteen is Bruce’s younger sister and she’s had a successful career of her own, first as an actress and now as a photographer. Let’s learn more about the 62-year-old:

1 She was in cult classic horror films

Here’s a Halloween fun fact for you: Pamela played the role of serial killer Angela Baker in the cult classic films Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (1988) and Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland (1989).

2 She made guest appearances on some pretty big shows

You may recognize Pamela in the shows The Facts of Life, Family Ties, Cagney & Lacey and Hardcastle and McCormick. She has acted in a number of non-horror films as well, including Modern Girls, Reckless and Dixie Lanes.

3 She was engaged to Sean Penn

After appearing in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (it was her first role, playing a young cheerleader), she was briefly engaged to her costar Sean Penn. While their relationship didn’t last, he was inspired by her brother’s music for his film The Indian Runner. The film is based on the Bruce Springsteen song “Highway Patrolman.”

4 She is a famous photographer

She formed a photography career mainly in the film and music industry and photographed many of her brother’s album covers and publicity photos. She’s also credited as a cinematographer for his music video “The Ghost of Tom Joad” as well as directing the music video for “These Words We Said” by singer Kim Richey.
