The iconic sitcom Cheers ended over 30 years ago, but at least two stars have spent the intervening decades wrapped up in some drama that started on set. Now, Kelsey Grammer and Ted Danson are ready to bury the hatchet and move forward as friends, as they discussed on a recent episode of the Where Everybody Knows Your Name podcast, cohosted by Danson and Woody Harrelson.

During the episode, they opened up about an on-set argument between them that happened sometime during the show’s 1982 to 1993 run. Danson admitted to Grammer, “I feel like I got stuck a little bit with you during the Cheers years. I have a memory of getting angry at you once.”

Grammer recalled the event and Danson added, “It’s stuck in both of our memories. But I feel like I missed out on the last 30 years of Kelsey Grammer and I feel like it’s my bad, my doing. I apologize to you. And [to] me that I sat back … I really do apologize.”

Grammer accepted his apology and said, “My love for you has always been as easy as the day. As easy as the sunrise.” He added that he wishes that they would have “spent some more time together” over the years.

Despite any arguments between them, Grammer remembered the funny thing Danson told him on his 40th birthday. He explained, “When I turned 40, you came up and said, ‘You know what it means, don’t you? Now that you’re 40, it means you’re finally worth having a conversation with.’ That was f—ing brilliant. I always loved that. And I thought about it, and I’ve repeated it.”

Grammer went on to star in his own spinoff series, Frasier, and is currently starring in the Frasier reboot, now in the second season on Paramount+. Tell us, who is your favorite character from Cheers and/or Frasier?
