A new family movie will truly be a family affair. Actors and married couple Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have signed on for a new comedy thriller called Family Movie. The couple will also direct the movie and have their children — Travis, 35, and Sosie, 32 — costar.

The official synopsis for the movie reads, “As cameras roll on their next low-budget slasher, an eclectic but tightknit family of filmmakers suddenly find themselves in a real-life horror movie when a body turns up on set. As the production spirals comically out of control, they realize the only solution to keep filming is to cover up the murder, by any means necessary.”

The movie is an opportunity not only for the family to work together but also for the kids to get more experience in the industry. Both have been working steadily, as Travis mainly composes music and Sosie acts. Travis composed the music for 2022’s Space Oddity, directed by his mother and starring his father.

Meanwhile, Sosie has experience in acting, as she starred in the 2022 film Smile, as well as several episodes of HBO’s Mare of Easttown. Kevin once shared that the family enjoys making horror films and said, “We definitely have a fondness for it in our family. I wonder what it is, specifically. I think that for an actor, you’re looking for things that have high stakes — and that’s what horror gives you. It’s always going to be a radical life-or-death situation.”
