In the past, Lindsay Lohan has been quite open about her dream of playing the beautiful and talented fellow redhead Ann-Margret. And now, it seems that it’s finally happening: Lohan swung by Watch What Happens Live for a mini-reunion with fellow Mean Girls star Lacey Chabert, and confirmed that plans for her to star in a biopic about Ann-Margret were in motion.

In March, Lohan opened up about her desire to play the star and shared, “I really want to play Ann-Margret, and we’re trying to find a writer for that story. She’s a triple threat, and she’s an amazing woman on top of that. So I just really want to do her justice and help tell a great story for her.”

During Lonhan’s Wednesday, Nov. 20 Watch What Happens Live appearance, host Andy Cohen read a fan question asking for updates on the Ann-Margret project.

Lohan responded, “We’re working on the story. It’s exciting, yeah!” When Cohen responded that she may need to brush up on her dancing skills to play Ann-Margret, she said, “I know, it’s gonna be pretty intense. It has to be the way she wants it to be, so I really want it to be special in that way.”

Ann-Margret is best known for her roles in Bye Bye Birdie, Viva Las Vegas, The Cincinnati Kid, Carnal Knowledge and Tommy. The Swedish-American actress began as a singer and dancer, eventually bringing her many talents to the screen. She is also known for her relationship with Elvis Presley, which formed on the set of Viva Las Vegas. What started as an affair turned into a lifelong friendship. She is now 83 years old and just released a new album of rock covers last year.
