Olivia Newton-John’s Leather Jacket From ‘Grease’ Seen at Grand Ole Opry
Singer and actress Olivia Newton-John passed away in 2022, but her legacy lives on. Currently, many items from her personal life and career are being auctioned off through Julien’s Auctions. The proceeds will go toward the Olivia Newton-John Foundation for cancer research. One of the top pieces of memorabilia fans have been buzzing about is the leather jacket that Newton-John wore while filming Grease.
The leather jacket made a surprise appearance at the Grand Ole Opry recently, worn by GRAMMY® nominated artist Maggie Rose during the Opry Country Christmas Show. Rose admitted that it was a huge honor to wear the jacket, as Newton-John certainly inspired her career.
“I want to thank Olivia’s family for letting me wear this piece of movie history on the Opry stage tonight,” said Rose. “Five decades ago, Olivia was nominated for her first Grammy. From this very stage Olivia won her very first CMA Award! A few weeks ago, I was nominated for MY first Grammy. I’m hoping some of Olivia’s Grand Ole Opry good luck rubs off on me.”
