Ann-Margret to Make Rare Fan Convention Appearance in January
Ann-Margret, the Golden Globe-winning actress and singer who starred in legendary films including Bye Bye Birdie, Viva Las Vegas, and Tommy will be making a rare fan convention appearance this January at the Hollywood Show in Los Angeles. She will appear on both Jan. 10 and 11.
Though she still performs and records music at 83 years old, Ann-Margret makes very few convention appearances, so this will be a rare opportunity for fans to get autographs and photo ops from the famous redheaded songstress.

Born Ann-Margret Olsson in Sweden in 1941, she emigrated to the U.S. as a small child, and began appearing on amateur talent TV shows while still in high school. In 1960, she was discovered by George Burns, after she auditioned for a role in his holiday show. The following year, she released her debut album, And Here She Is … Ann-Margret and appeared in a small role in the comedy Pocketful of Miracles.
But her breakthrough came in 1963, when her turn as Kim in Bye Bye Birdie earned her a Golden Globe nomination and launched her into stardom. Ironically, Bye Bye Birdie was inspired by Elvis — but the next year, she was his co-star in Viva Las Vegas.
From there, Ann-Margret appeared in a steady stream of beloved films, including The Cincinnati Kid, Carnal Knowledge, Tommy, Grumpy Old Men, and Any Given Sunday. She’s also maintained a TV career, appearing most recently on Ray Donovan and The Kominsky Method, and has been active in performing for and supporting U.S. military troops and veterans.
Most recently, 2023, Ann-Margret released the album Born to Be Wild, which saw her paired with guest musicians including The Who’s Pete Townsend, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, Pat Boone, and many others.
