Lauren Graham Would “Always Say Yes” to More ‘Gilmore Girls’

You can’t deny the people what they want. And what the people want is…. more Gilmore Girls.
Which is why, when Lauren Graham made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Feb. 4 while promoting her upcoming new Tubi comedy series, The Z-Suite, the actress who played Lorelai Gilmore on Gilmore Girls opposite Alexis Bledel for seven seasons (plus a Netflix miniseries revival) was asked if she would return for another season or spinoff/sequel/reboot — whatever you want to call it — of the beloved mother-daughter comedy series set in the quirky fictional town of Stars Hollow, CT.
“I would, yes! I always say yes because it’s the best part I ever had, and I love doing it,” Graham told Fallon. “It was the perfect material at the perfect time with the perfect writer, and it just means so much to me.”

We here at Remind agree. From this Gilmore Girls quiz to our list of 8 Things You Didn’t Know About Gilmore Girls, the millennial favorite is a hot topic among our readership and has inspired many, many posts and even a recent trip the Gilmore Girls convention! The show, written by the great Amy Sherman-Palladino, is one of the most-rewatched shows of all-time, and now has thousands of younger fans who weren’t even born when it first aired but watched it on Netflix to boot. Therefore, it is not so surprising that Fallon thought to ask her about its success.
“I will say it can be strange at times because on the one hand, some people are starting to say, ‘You raised me,’ and I’m like, ‘I hope there were other adults involved,’” she added. “And then on the other hand, people are like, ‘Oh, I just have the show on in the background. It puts my dog to sleep. We’re not even listening anymore. It’s just on like background music.’”
I have also enjoyed leaving Gilmore Girls on in the background, especially in fall and winter, when the nights get dark and dreary. So for all of us fans (and dog insomniacs), we ask (or maybe beg) of Amy Sherman-Palladino: More Gilmore Girls… please?
