The late Christopher Reeve‘s son, Will Reeve, is honoring his father by looking back in the past, including the tragic accident that changed his life forever. In a new ABC primetime special called Will Reeve: Finding My Father, Will is heading out on an adventure to help find some closure. Will was only 2 years old when his father became paralyzed after a horseback-riding accident and was just 12 years old when he passed away.

Will shares in the trailer, “My father was my hero. To millions, he was Superman. I idolize and miss a different Christopher Reeve … Dad.” He will travel to places that his father visited on his last trip before he was paralyzed, including Mexico and an island near Siberia.

The special comes after increased interest in Christopher after the release of the documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story. Will continues, “I’ve inherited some of my dad’s sense of adventure and have carried it with me into my job every day at Good Morning America and across ABC News. I’ve gotten to travel the world telling stories, but this is the one story that needs an ending.”

He adds, “For 30 years now, I’ve dreamed of taking a journey to the last places he visited before his accident.” Will Reeve: Finding My Father airs on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, at 10pm ET on ABC, and will be available to stream on Hulu the following day. Will you be watching?
