Jack Quaid Gushes About Mom Meg Ryan’s Comeback: “No One Deserves It More Than Her”

Actor Jack Quaid took a moment during the premiere of his new film Novocaine to talk about another actor: his mother, Meg Ryan. Quaid, who is Ryan’s son with fellow actor Dennis Quaid, called his mother’s recent return to Hollywood “unbelievable.” He told People, “Obviously, I am very biased, but no one deserves it more than her.”
After taking a lengthy break from acting, Meg returned to film in 2023, directing and starring in the rom-com What Happens Later. More recently, she reunited with her When Harry Met Sally costar Billy Crystal for a Super Bowl commercial for Hellmann’s products; in it, the pair showed up at the famous Katz’s Deli, the home of one of the most memorable scenes from the beloved romantic comedy, which recently celebrated its 35th anniversary. The twosome also presented at the 2025 Academy Awards.

Jack has always been happy for his parents and their careers, but it wasn’t easy for the family when he decided that he wanted to try to become an actor, as well. At first, he was met with some hesitation. He explained, “With my parents, I told them I wanted to be an actor and they understood what that meant. They weren’t initially super psyched about it because they knew how tough it was for them, so they were like, ‘Oh jeez, of course we have another one.’ But ultimately they understood and were very supportive, so that I’m super grateful for.”

Things seem to be working out for the 32-year-old, as Novocaine is already his second film released this year. He also starred in the film Companion and has five projects in the works, according to IMDb, including voice work on a reboot of the beloved ’90s cartoon The Ren & Stimpy Show.
