Where is Singer Bobby Vinton Now at 90 Years Old?

Back in the ’60s and ’70s, only one teen idol was known as “The Polish Prince” — none other than Bobby Vinton. Born Stanley Robert Vinton on April 16, 1935, he grew up in a musical household, as the only child of bandleader Stan Vinton and Dorothy Studzinski Vinton. Bobby formed his first band at the age of 16, and went on to have several No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 songs, as well as his own self-titled television show. So, where is he today at age 90?
Unfortunately, Vinton was forced to retire a decade ago in 2015 after contracting shingles. While he no longer performs, he has been seen in several infomercials selling the “Lifetime of Romance” music collection, and was heard on Sirius XM radio’s The Cousin Brucie Show in 2018, encouraging fans to get their shingles vaccine.

Inspired by Elvis
Vinton once shared that he was inspired to record music after watching the Elvis Presley film Jailhouse Rock, and started his own record label called Bobby Records in 1958. He began releasing songs such as “Twilight Time and “Always in My Heart.” Just a year after starting his own label, he moved to a bigger record company called Alpine Records and later Epic Records. He found success with the songs “Roses Are Red (My Love)” and “Blue Velvet” (originally a Tony Bennett song), which both reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Vinton continued to release popular tunes and in 1975, got his own half-hour variety show called The Bobby Vinton Show; he also acted in several films throughout the ’60s and ’70s, including Surf Party and The Train Robbers. In 1978, he also released an autobiography called The Polish Prince and had a one-hour special on CBS called Bobby Vinton’s Rock N’ Rollers. As the years rolled by, Vinton became a guest star at the Roy Clark Theatre in Branson, Missouri in the ’90s and was inspired to build his own theater called the Bobby Vinton Blue Velvet Theatre in Branson.
While not much is known about his current life, he is still married to his wife Dolores, who he wed on December 17, 1962. They have five children and reside in Englewood, Florida.
