Original Lynda Carter ‘Wonder Woman’ Costume Up for Auction

When you think of Wonder Woman, odds are high that you think of the beautiful and strong Lynda Carter in her trademark red, white, blue and gold bodysuit, tiara, boots and “Lasso of Truth.” Now, one lucky fan will get the chance to purchase the entire original Americana uniform bodysuit worn by Carter, along with her tiara, earrings, “Lasso of Truth” prop and even her knee-high boots, during the Julien’s Auctions “Channel Surfing” auction event this May.
The “Channel Surfing” auction offers much more than Wonder Woman’s outfit, however; it also features props, costumes and memorabilia from other television shows including the couch from Roseanne, costumes from The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour and Mama’s Family, props from Star Trek and Lost in Space and many, many more items perfect for nostalgic collectors.

What might the costumes go for at auction? It is estimated that the bodysuit with bracelets will fetch around $100,000-$200,000 (it is currently at $25,0000), while the tiara and earrings, “Lasso of Truth,” and boots should gain around $20,000-$30,000 each. There is also a classic Wonder Woman doll, costume sketch and smaller costume elements available for bids.
Wonder Woman’s TV costumes
While she only played the character for three seasons, Carter and her classic bodysuit costume have been cemented in pop culture history. But do you remember the other pieces she wore on the show, which ran from 1975 to 1979? Several episodes saw alternate costumes, including a Western look in “The Bushwhackers” and a blue wetsuit that came out whenever she needed to go underwater or strangely enough, on a motorcycle. In the 1975 pilot film The New Original Wonder Woman, she wore a skirted costume that looked the most like the one from the 1940s comic books and is the rarest of all of her looks.
The “Channel Surfing” auction will take place live and online on Wednesday, May 7th, and Thursday, May 8th. Is anything up for auction that you wish you could pick up?
