150-Pound Prop Stolen From Set of ‘Beetlejuice 2’
Prior to the current strikes, the filming for Beetlejuice 2 was underway. The highly-anticipated sequel began filming some outdoor scenes in the small town of East Corinth, Vermont. It appears there are some troublemakers living there because there were two reported thefts from the set of the film. The Vermont State Police confirmed that they are investigating the crimes that happened sometime between July 13 and 17th.
The police said that someone removed “a large lamppost topped with a distinctive pumpkin decoration” and four days later “an approximately 150-pound abstract art statue” was stolen as well. The stolen statue looks just like one of the sculptures that come to life towards the end of the first film. The statue was reportedly stolen from a cemetery they were filming at.

Filming was taking place in the small Vermont town because it was the location used for several scenes in the original. The new film will star original cast members Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder and add Jenna Ortega. Ryder and Ortega were spotted filming what appeared to be a wedding scene in Hertfordshire, England earlier this month. Ryder is reprising her role with Ortega acting as her daughter in the sequel.
Catherine O’Hara is also expected to reprise her role in the film with new cast members Monica Bellucci, Justin Theroux, and Willem Dafoe appearing as well. The film is expected to be released in September 2024 but may experience setbacks due to the current strikes. Details about the plot are being kept under wraps as of now but hopefully more will be released soon!
