McBrain is thanking his support systems for their help during his recovery and said he has gone through 10 weeks of intense therapy already. He revealed, “Of course I was very worried that my career was over but with the love and support from my wife, Rebecca and family, my doctors… my Maiden family I was able to bounce back to somewhere near 70% recovered. I’m not there yet, but by the grace of God, I’m getting better and stronger as the weeks go by.”

McBrain also shared a photo of himself behind his drum set and said that he has been practicing. The band just played August 4 at The Wacken Open Air festival in Germany and will be brining their “Future Past 2023” tour to North America this fall

It certainly isn’t the first time a member of the legendary metal band has suffered a health scare. Back in 2014 front man Bruce Dickinson, who happens to be celebrating his birthday Aug. 7,  was diagnosed with throat cancer but was able to make a full recovery. In 2016 the band went on your for their album “Book of Souls” that they had their own plane, Ed Force One, to fly them around the globe. Bruce often was the captain. In 2018 they began the biggest tour of their career, “Legacy of the Beast World Tour,” which wrapped up in 2022 after having to take a break to the pandemic.
