The restaurant, called Fleetwood’s on Front Street, was a popular choice for Maui tourists as it served American cuisine. It had a very cool rooftop bar with incredible ocean views. The restaurant also boasted live entertainment. After the fires have been stopped, Fleetwood will likely share more about the restaurant’s future. As of now, the website says that it is “closed until further notice.” At the time of posting, Maui County officials confirmed that 80 percent of the wildfire was contained.
Unfortunately, 55 people have lost their lives in the fires and people continue to be stranded without power and/or food. Authorities are working tirelessly to help the situation. If you have the means, you can donate here.
