Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks is Now a Barbie Girl
Months after the release of the highly-anticipated Barbie movie, fans are still in their Barbie eras. Now, singer and former member of the band Fleetwood Mac can say she is in hers too as Mattel is set to release a Barbie in her likeness. Stevie Nicks announced the news and shared a sneak peek of the doll at her Madison Square Garden show in New York City on Sunday.
The Stevie Nicks Barbie is part of Mattel’s Barbie Music Series. The doll wears Nicks’ platform boots, moon necklace, and flowing black dress, very reminiscent of the outfit she wore on the cover of Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 album Rumours. Nicks reportedly let Mattel borrow her black dress and boots to use as a reference for the Barbie. The doll also holds a ribboned tambourine. It became available for pre-order on Monday for $55 and has since sold out.

Mattel shared about the new addition to its lineup of Barbies, “We wanted to wish Stevie Nicks a happy 75th birthday in the best way possible. So we created a Barbie doll to capture her iconic style.” Nicks has shared her gratitude about being featured in the series and said that the doll “means the world” to her.
She said, “When Mattel came to me asking if I would like to have a Barbie made in the ‘Rumours’ cover style I was very overwhelmed. Of course I questioned ‘would she look like me? Would she have my spirit? Would she have my heart…’ When I look at her, I see my 27 year old self~ All the memories of walking out on a big stage in that black outfit and those gorgeous boots come rushing back~ and then I see myself now in her face. What we have been through since 1975~ the battles we have fought, the lessons we have learned~ together. I am her and she is me. She absolutely has my heart.”
