‘The Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror: Kang & Kodos’ Greatest Hits!
The Simpsons’ Halloween “Treehouse of Horror” episode returns, and like most years, it’s actually airing after Halloween. “Treehouse of Horror XXIV” airs on FOX Sunday, Nov. 5, at 8pm ET/PT.
Marge (voice of Julie Kavner) fights though the blockchain to rescue Bart (Nancy Cartwright) after he’s turned into an NFT, Lisa (Yeardley Smith) seeks the help of a murderer from her past to track down a serial killer, and an outbreak transforms Springfielders into lazy, beer-loving oafs.
One of the great “Treehouse” traditions is the appearance of aliens Kang and Kodos from the planet Rigel 7. Typically, they invade Springfield and cause havoc, interfere in presidential elections, enslave humanity or simply laugh at us from their mothership. There are occasional abductions, though they claim to have reached the limits of what rectal probing can teach them.
Here are our picks of Kang and Kodos’ most stellar moments:
After world peace is achieved, Kang and Kodos seize the opportunity to conquer a defenseless Earth. Thanks to Flanders (stupid Flanders), Kang and Kodos are sent fleeing by Mo brandishing a board with a nail in it.
Kang and the Simpsons appear on The Jerry Springer Show to argue over who’s Maggie’s biological father. An enraged Kang ends up vaporizing the Springer audience.
The Simpsons think they’re on the aliens’ menu, but it turns out they’re really the guests of honor at a huge feast. Oops!
Kang and Kodos speed up the excruciatingly boring World Series game so FOX could air the “Treehouse of Horror” episode sometime before Administrative Professionals’ Day.
Kang and Kodos abduct presidential candidates Bob Dole and Bill Clinton and assume their identities. When Homer exposes the truth, voters must decide which of the two aliens is going to be elected president, or waste their votes on a third party candidate. Don’t blame me, I voted for Kodos!
