Snoop Dogg is Giving Up Smoke & Martha Stewart is Giving Up Thanksgiving

Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg have one of the most interesting friendships in Hollywood. Stewart built a business showcasing her talent for cooking, baking, and homemaking. While Snoop Dogg has created his career around rapping and smoking weed. The pair first met in 2008 when the rapper joined Stewart on her show The Martha Stewart Show and they made mashed potatoes together. He returned the next year to make brownies, but to Snoop Dogg’s dismay, they were not “special.” Fans ate up their banter, their unusual pairing and the duo became friends in real life.
They’ve even teamed up to host shows together including Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party and Snoop and Martha’s Very Tasty Halloween. So, when news broke that Stewart is giving up Thanksgiving and cooking her iconic turkeys and Snoop Dogg is giving up “smoke,” it begs the question… did they switch bodies? Did they make some kind of pact to give up something? Is this news only related in my head?

Snoop Dogg recently shocked fans when he wrote on Instagram, “After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time.” Days later, Snoop Dogg updated everyone and it turns out he played a little joke on his fans! He is actually collaborating with Solo Stove, a smokeless fire pit brand and his post was a tease at the new product.
Meanwhile, Stewart broke her news on The Kelly Clarkson Show. She admitted, “I gave up Thanksgiving. I canceled. Nine guests canceled because somebody got sick. So … I called up my chef friend and I said, ‘We’re not doing Thanksgiving.’ I’ve also cooked 14 turkeys already for my TV show, and I still have to [cook] one more turkey on the ‘Today’ show. So forget it.”
Stewart isn’t forgoing the holiday altogether. She said that some friends have invited her to their home and she is going to five different places to taste different courses. Perhaps she is visiting Snoop Dogg’s house? We can only hope!
