Nicolas Cage & His Wife Celebrate Exciting Milestone at the 2024 Golden Globes
Nicolas Cage had a very fun birthday party this year! He celebrated his 60th birthday (January 7) at the 2024 Golden Globes ceremony which he attended with his wife Riko Shibata. Cage was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical, or Comedy for his role in Dream Scenario but sadly did not win and receive what could have been the best birthday present ever. Even so, he seemed ecstatic just to be there with his wife.
He shared, “I’m just looking at this whole experience as one big birthday party. It’s my surrealist birthday party. I’m excited to see everybody; everybody’s invited to my birthday party.” He even revealed that he wouldn’t turn it down if everyone decided to sing him “Happy Birthday.” The 60-year-old wore a black and gold suit while his 27-year-old wife wore a maroon coat over a simple black outfit.

The couple tied the knot back in 2021 and welcomed their daughter, August Francesca in 2022. They had a very small ceremony in Las Vegas and Cage admitted, “I know five is a lot, but I think I got it right this time.” This is indeed the fifth marriage for Cage, who was previously married to Patricia Arquette, the late Lisa Marie Presley, Alice Kim, and Erika Koike. He has two children, Kal-El, 16, and Weston, 31, from previous relationships.

Cage and Shibata met while he was filming the movie Prisoners of the Ghostland in Japan. Cage has not only been busy in his personal life but in his career the past few years as well. He starred in Dream Scenario, The Retirement Plan, Sympathy for the Devil, The Flash, Renfield, and The Old Way in 2023 alone. He also has several new movies in the works.
