Drew Barrymore Cries While Watching Her Own ’90s Rom-Com & Sandler’s Response
I’m sure all of us have gotten teary-eyed while watching a romantic comedy at some point in our lives. For Drew Barrymore, she started crying while watching a movie she starred in! She recently shared a clip on social media and shared that she came across the 1998 film The Wedding Singer on TV when she was getting ready to go to yoga class. Well, she admitted that she decided to take a later class so she could enjoy the movie at home.
In the clip, she says, seemingly to her former co-star Adam Sandler, “We made such a good movie. I love you so much. Happy New Year.” She captioned the video, “I love you so much @adamsandler. The Wedding Singer came on my TV as I was getting ready to leave the house and I had to take in this moment and watch it.”

The Wedding Singer is one of Barrymore and Sandler’s romantic comedies. It tells the story of a wedding singer named Robbie, played by Sandler, who falls in love with a waitress named Julia, played by Barrymore. The problem is they’re both engaged to other people but of course, (spoiler alert!) they end up together in the end. The ’90s film was such a hit that they made the rom-com films 50 First Dates and Blended together too.
Since they have starred in several movies together and played love interests, it is no surprise that the pair became close friends. A few years ago, Barrymore was there to present Sandler with the Best Actor Award at the National Board of Review Annual Awards Gala.
She said, “I love this man so much, and I have always believed in him. This moment, honestly, couldn’t be more deserved. I know that everyone is rooting for you because you have earned everyone’s respect. You deserve the best, you give the best and you are the best. I love you very much.” He replied, “I’m glad we met. and I’m glad we did it all and we always make our movies together.”
What Adam had to say in response? Love u always Drew. Happy New Year.
