Tim Burton Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame (Photos)
Ahead of the release of his latest film, the long-awaited Beetlejuice sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, premiering on Sept. 6, director Tim Burton became the latest person to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today. Winona Ryder, who played gothic teen Lydia in the 1988 Beetlejuice alongside attended the ceremony, as well as Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito.
In addition to the Beetlejuice films, Tim Burton, known for his quirky characters and highly artistic output, directed many hits during the 1980s and ’90s, including Batman, Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands, and the stop-motion animated films The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride.
His newest film, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, will follow Lydia’s daughter after she returns to the house her mother lived in as a teen and also discovers the dead man in the striped suit. Keaton will reprise his role as the titular character, ensuring large swaths of ’90s kids and teens returning to the theater to get their next fix.
